HAIR TRANSPLANT (FUE & FUT)
A hair transplant is a cosmetic surgery procedure that moves hair from a thick area of the scalp to a bald or thinning area. The procedure is performed in a doctor's office and involves the following steps.
Anesthesia
The scalp is numbed with local anesthesia, and sometimes medicine is given to relax the patient.
Harvesting
A strip of hair-bearing scalp is removed from the back or sides of the head, and the area is closed with stitches. This area is called the donor area.
Separation
The removed strip of scalp is divided into small groups of hairs, or individual hairs, which are often separated under magnification.
Placement
Tiny cuts are made in the bald areas, called the recipient areas, and the hairs are carefully placed in the cuts.
Closure
The scalp is checked to ensure the hairs will grow together to form a natural-looking hairline
